Evert Van_Ness-236 should be removed from this family. Cornelis Van_Nes-28 and Maycke Hendricksdr-3 did NOT have a son named Evert. They had 3 male children: Hendrick, Gerrit, and Jan. These 3 male children are listed in the Pat Wardell file for this family. In addition, they are the only male children mentioned in the 1664 agreement Cornelis made for the inheritance of his children before marrying his second wife Maria Damen.
Furthermore, these two sisters, Cornelia and Rebecca, listed as Evert's daughters, instead are daughters of Dirck Evertszen (who for some reason sometimes went by the additional name Van Ness) and Fytie Reyerts. This is explained in the Van Ness Wardell file for Dirck Evertszen. She refers to the daughters as Rebecca and Cornelia Dirckszen. He might be the person written about as Evert Dercksen Van Nef, who owned land at the Wallabout in 1661 and signed his name "Evert Dercksen." (see Register in Alphabetical Order of the Early Settlers of Kings County). But he is not a member of the Van Ness family from Vianen, Netherlands.
Another Evert, Van_Nes-21 should also be looked at, because it has no biog. information and no sources, but gives 1636 as birthdate in Albany, so might be a duplicate of this Evert. Perhaps they should be merged and left as orphans, to see if someone can find if they even exist.
Van NESS-70 and Van Ness-236 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. These matches have been reviewed by the New Netherland Settlers Merge Approval System, and the "Green" destination NNS profile is protected as PPP, and the "Merge Pending" profile is now ready and able to be merged into it. I saved the data to the bios. Thanks!
